Pre-purchase yacht survey in Greece
Buying a used yacht is a large decision made on incomplete information. A pre-purchase survey gives you an independent technical picture of the yacht before you commit.
What the survey covers
- Hull, superstructure and deck, visually and with moisture readings where accessible
- Engines, drive train and auxiliary systems
- Fuel, cooling and exhaust systems
- Electrical installations, AC and DC
- Navigation and communication equipment
- Standing and running rigging for sailing yachts
- Steering, bilge, pumping and piping systems
- Safety equipment and general compliance status
- Documentation, certification, flag status and maintenance history
Particular attention is given to visible signs of wear, deferred maintenance, modifications, repair history and any finding likely to affect value, safety, insurability or future operation.
Afloat, ashore and sea trial
Most buyers combine an inspection afloat with a haul-out, so the underwater hull, rudder, propellers and through-hull fittings can be seen. A sea trial lets us assess engine performance and handling under way. Yard and lift charges are paid directly to the yard.
Engine specialists
For twin-engine motor yachts and high-performance powerboats we recommend authorised engine engineers attend in parallel for compression readings, oil analysis and diagnostics. They invoice separately, and we can recommend engineers and coordinate the day.
The report
You receive a detailed written report setting out our findings, the condition and maintenance standard, defects noted, items needing specialist investigation, and likely priorities for repair. The report helps you decide whether to proceed, renegotiate, plan repairs or withdraw. It is confidential to you.
Next step
Send us the make and model, year, length, where the yacht lies and your timing. We reply with scope and a fixed fee.
